Using MS Word
One of the easiest ways of converting an XML file to a Word document is through MS Word. You get a lot from this tool, after all.
Microsoft Word supports a variety of different file formats, XML is one of them. The application even lets you make the changes that you want before exporting it.
The first thing you need to do do is open up your XML file. You can do this one of three ways. Right-click on the XML file from its location on your PC and click “Open with” then choose MS Word. You can also double click on the XML file from its location which will automatically open it in MS Word.
Alternatively, you can start up your MS Word application and look for “File” in the upper left corner. This will lead you to the File menu where you can click “Open” and choose the XML file that you want to convert.
Once you have the XML file open and previewed on your screen, you can go ahead and make any necessary edits to the file. If you’re satisfied with the changes or have none, go back the the “File” option on the toolbar. Then click “Save as” which will open a new dialog box where you can select the “Browse” option.
Choose where you want to store your new file, before clicking save look to the “Save as type” drop-down menu. Scroll to the “Word Document (*.docx)” option and select it. Lastly, click “Save” which will now save and convert your XML file to a Word Document one.
Using Online Converters
There are several online converters that are readily available and free for you to use. It’s hard to know which of them are the ones you can trust. We recommend using OnlineConvertFree or FreeFileConvert or kmz shp converter.
These sites don’t require any kind of sign up or registration and delete the files that you upload. OnlineConvertFree instantly deletes any uploaded files and converted files after 24 hours.
The first thing you need to do is upload the file on to the site. You can either click “Choose File” and look for the XML file you want to convert or use its drag and drop option. You can upload files from your PC, Google Drive, or DropBox.
Next, you need the select from the drop-down menu which format you want it converted to. Go ahead and scroll down to the “doc” file format. Click “Convert” then wait for your file finish converting and then click “Download” to have it saved to your PC.
FreeFileConvert works in roughly the same way, just follow the numbered steps on the site. The first thing you need to do is click “Choose File”. This site only lets you upload files from your PC so make sure you have it downloaded.
FreeFileConvert site lets you convert up to five files at the same time so you don’t have to upload them one by one. Like the first site, select its output format and click “Convert”. Once your file is ready you can start downloading it.
You’ll find any of the converted files in your “Downloads” folder on your PC.
Using PDFElement
Another method for converting XML to Word is by using PDFElement. It’s a third-party application from Wondershare that free for you to download.
The first step is to open the XML file that you want to convert. Have the folder of its location open as well as an empty tab of the search engine you’re using. Drag the XML file from your PC folder to the new tab, this will open the code on to your browser.
Next, look for the settings option of your browser, if you’re using Google then it’ll be the three vertical dots on the upper right corner of the screen. Click it and a drop-down box will appear, look for the “Print” option and select it. A new dialog box will open asking you to select what printer to use, “Wondershare PDFElement” should be on.
Continue by clicking on “Print” which will open up and preview your XML file on the application. You can also make any necessary changes to the file while you’re here. Go to the toolbar at the top and open the “Convert” menu.
There will be a “To Word” option that you can click which will automatically start converting your XML file into a Word document. From there, since the file opened is now a Word document, just click “Save” and choose where on your PC you want the file to be.
